Mission 21

On Sunday, April 6, our crew rescued 28 people, including 12 minors, who had been drifting for 52 hours after leaving Libya.

We are back at the sea to save lives

The violence against migrant people in Libya and Tunisia continues to increase.

People on the move are not safe, especially if they are black, Christian, and from the LGBTQIA+ collective, victims of arbitrary arrest and torture or abandoned in the desert. And all this with the silent complicity of Europe.

That's why Mediterranea Saving Humans is back at sea with Mission 21, aboard the sailboat Safira.

On Sunday 06 April, our crew rescued 28 people, including 12 minors, adrift for 52 hours after leaving Libya. The engine of their boat had caught fire. Maltese authorities refused to intervene. They are now safe, landed in Lampedusa, but the Central Mediterranean remains the world's deadliest route.

That's why Mission 21 continues.

Safira has departed Lampedusa again. We are back at sea to provide once more assistance to boats in distress, report cases to the relevant authorities and rescue those whose lives are at risk.
